Nena - German SingerNena is a German singer who became famous throughout Europe in the punk era of the late 1970's with her song "99 Red Balloons" or "99 Luftballons."
She acquired her nickname, "Nena", a term of endearment for "little girl", at the age of three. In 1977 she left high school prior to her graduation to receive training as a goldsmith but never continued in this career. Her popularity waned in the 1980's and 1990's but she has again become a popular concert performer in recent years and has released new recorded material. Read more about Nena here. |
